Among the services offered by Comelec we also find ultrasonic welding.
ultrasonic welding
Ultrasonic welding is ideal for making small and medium welds. Welding takes place by positioning two pieces to be welded on a support, overlapping them one on top of the other.
Thanks to an adequate sonotrode, the tool that generates a sound wave at a certain frequency, imparts pressure and vibration on the pieces. This vibration generates the heat necessary to fuse the parts together in their junction area.
Ultrasonic welding is suitable for thermoplastic materials that have the same chemical nature, in the alternative case the situation must be analyzed from time to time to evaluate the compatibility and feasibility of the welding.
In general, the materials suitable for ultrasonic welding are rigid PVC, polycarbonate, PS, ABS, AS, PMMA, NORYL, polysulfones and acetals. On the contrary, materials such as PE, PP, Nylon are less suitable for this type of welding, but each welding project must still be evaluated individually.
